Common Nighthawk, Lapland Bunting, Short-eared Owl, Yellow-browed Warbler, Monarch butterfly.

Porthcressa: Greenshank, Wheatear, c.300 Shag, Grey Wagtail

Penninis Head: 2 Wheatears, Reed Bunting, Short-eared Owl, Lapland Bunting: Buffish supercilium, crown heavily streaked with paler stripe down centre. Blackish eyestripe curving down to form blackish ear-spot. Rufous cheeks. Blackish moustachial stripe curving up and widening at rear. Whitish malar stripe. Nape plain, greyish. Back heavily striated with two white stripes, similar to Snipe. Two white wingbars formed by white edges to coverts, with rufous between. White underparts, with some darker streaking on flanks.

Airport: Monarch butterfly

Carn Warvel: Yellow-browed Warbler: Very active, one bright and one indistinct wingbar, bright supercilium. Quite greyish underparts.

Rocky Hill: Common Nighthawk: Flight very buoyant, very long wings, long tail (fork not seen). Slow wingbeats, interspersed with quite long glides, with wings held upwards in a deep 'V'. Also had short periods of much quicker wingbeats. Much jinking and sudden changing of direction. Hawked over conifers, fields and reed marshes. At a distance, looked all dark, but white blobs were noticeable, just out from the bend of the wing, larger and not as close to the wingtip as those of Nightjar.
