Pied Wagtail, 17 Gadwall

Cold, clear and very still.  The water level is still quite low, and as I walked along the road, a Pied Wagtail landed briefly on a rock just at the water's edge.  As I reached the reserve, there were good numbers of Lapwings and Cormorants, but the highlight was a group of 17 sleepy Gadwall, just in the water offshore from the muddy spit midway between the road and the hide.
